Wedding trends and predictions post COVID19!
Has your wedding been postponed, cancelled or at a standstill due to #covid19?
Like many couples who secured their venue and had their dreams all come crashing down, and is feeling deflated and unsure of what's going to happen next. I feel you and I got you!
Let's begin with what we have going on in #Dubai RIGHT NOW, as decisions are changing like the wind and Our health is the TOP priority, Dubai is taking slow steps and strict measures to ensure everyone is safe. There has been no official announcement by the government to wedding regulations and measures going forward. As a wedding planner I'm patiently waiting for the news to come too.
Currently virtual weddings are being conducted in Dubai for Muslims, however it's not clear if this is also the case for other faiths.
My Predictions on wedding trends -
I expect to see BIG changes going into 2021 weddings although Dubai is known for lavish, expensive weddings, I see a shift in the tide on this.
1, Smaller and intimate weddings will be more popular, this will be because 80% of Dubai's population are #expats and this means guests will be travelling to attend the BIG day.
2, Catering is going to adapt to innovative ways to feed the wedding guests in a way that supports local health precautions. I can see large buffets being a thing of the past and live cooking stations being more popular. Sanitation areas will be nearby and will be styled to fit with the wedding decor.
3, Venues will implement socially distance rules, decrease members of staff, change their guest counts per space and follow government regulations. Outdoor spaces will be on high DEMAND for brides and grooms.
4, Virtual weddings is definitely going to be BOOMING next year in many ways. I can see couples adding #tech elements such as E-Invites, going LIVE on social media platforms for guest who cannot attend on the day, virtual ceremonies, virtual wedding planning, virtual venue tours. I have adapted my own business strategy post covid19 and will be offering virtual consultations and my new sustainable wedding E-Invites stationery for couples.
5, Budgets are going to greatly impacted due to the current economy. I see a decrease in most areas but particularly in wedding flowers, decor, stationery, cakes and venues due to a surge in micro weddings. Sustainable weddings and the less is more approach is on the rise.
